Emily Harper is a gouache and paper-media artist who lives and works in Taos, New Mexico.  She holds a B.S. in Geology from the University at Buffalo and is currently studying Fine Arts at UNM-Taos.  She is originally from Rochester, NY and brings a rust-belt sentiment (nihilism mixed with hope for rejuvenation)  into works connected to nature and our relationship to it. 

 

Her artistic style combines high energy colors with abstract geometric patterns influenced by the earth sciences and existentialism.  She has completed several residencies, a solo exhibition, and has participated in multiple juried exhibits.
